Recipe with Fenugreek Leaves


Methi or fenugreek leaves is one of the healthiest greens and abundantly available in India. people are fond of methi because of its many health benefits. its always recommended to include healthy greens like methi, kale, spinach or palak or amaranth in the diet.
There are different ways and styles to cook fenugreek not only that indifferent culture there are different recipes.



Lets look at one of the simple Recipe of fenugreek Leaves:

Ingredients:
2 cups fenugreek leaves/methi(chopped fresh)
1 cup green peas/ matar(boiled)
1 cup fresh cream/malai
2 tbsp ghee or oil
½ cup water
sugar 
salt to taste
1 medium size onion (chopped)
1 tsp cumin seeds
3-4 cloves garlic (chopped)
1 inch ginger (chopped)
1 or 2 green chilies (chopped)
½ cup cashewnuts
a few coriander leaves (chopped)


Instructions:
First let us make the gravy Methi Matar Malai recipe for this add ingredients which are onion, cumin seeds, ginger and garlic, green chilies, cashew nuts now grand this into paste in a blender. But note that grand it without water in case if it’s not forming into paste then only add few drops of water.

> Next take a pan and heat oil or ghee which ever you like,  add in to ground paste and fry the paste 6-7 minutes till the fragments comes out of it and keep on stirring it so that the ingredients won’t get stick to the bottom of the pan, if it is then pour some water 

>Now add fenugreek leaves and about 1/2 cup water, Mix it well on a medium low heat for about 10 minutes. 

> Mean while you need to boil the peas and keep aside.

>Now add to above mixture cream and keep on stirring it at last add boiled peas close the lid and keep it on simmer flame for 4-5 minutes.

>Add a pinch of sugar and salt as per your taste mix it well.

>Garnish the Methi Matar Malai with coriander leaves and serve it hot. It goes best with butter naan or even with phulka
